The Tailored Trailer Before & After

Hey Sweeties! Back in March I bought this little trailer that was in need of a facelift. I thought it was going to be a quick and easy transformation but I was WRONG. I kept running into a bunch of problems from water damage, floor rotting, broke appliances, electrical etc. It was hard finding people in the trades to help out with the trailer because it was a smaller job. Months went by and so many people told me “its not worth it”. I was passionate and not ready to give up. I ended up finding help from my friends cousin. He helped me fix the rotting floor, work on the ceiling, install new trim and flooring (THANK-YOU MATHEW). My sister Melissa also helped me with all of the painting done in the trailer (THANK-YOU MELISSA). The makeover included alot of paint, wallpaper, new flooring, cushions, curtains, lighting and accessories. I am so happy that I stuck with this little passion project of mine and could not be happier with the result. I call her “The Tailored Trailer”.

After Photos :

Shout out to Morning Light Photography for the wonderful images!

Dining & Living Area :

Before this area was very brown and beige. I wanted to lighten things up. We painted all of the walls in Benjamin Moore’s “Simply White”. We painted all of the cabinets a beautiful putty colour, Benjamin Moore’s “Revere Pewter”. I had all of the cushions recovered in Tonic Living Fabric (THANK-YOU MORIA). I love the neutral grey, beige and white stripe combination. I then added some gold sconces from IKEA to warm things up. It all reminds me of a english cottage with a nautical twist.

Kitchen :

In the kitchen area all of the cabinets were painted. We also painted the countertops to clean everything up. A floral wallpaper was added as a backsplash and gives this area the perfect amount of charm. I also had little roman shades made in a check pattern and I think they look airy and lovely. We painted all of the hardware gold to make it pop. On the fridge I keep polaroid photos from the camping trims we’ve had so far!

Bedroom Area :

This are is one of my favourites. Before the bedroom was beige and dark and there was a cupboard and a bunk bed above. I decided to take it all out an really open up the space. We added new trim and made a fake headboard using Benjamin Moore’s “Boothbay Gray”. The floral wallpaper that was added in the kitchen also made its way over into this space. I purchased crisp white bedding and grey striped pillows and really think it tied everything to together. I love sleeping and relaxing in the cozy space!

The Bathroom:

The bathroom got a fresh coat of paint. I also added some blush pink paint to the cupboard and a simple shower curtain. The look was finished off with a pretty piece of artwork.

Next spring I hope to add some finishing touches to the inside of the trailer. I also hope to paint and redo the outside. I would love to have my “Tailored Trailer” logo done by the talented Danielle of Norfolk Design Co printed somewhere on the exterior. Ive always wanted to rent this baby out I also might look into that for the spring, summer and fall months

This project has taught me so much over the last few months. It has taught me to never give up on your vision no matter what people tell you! Follow those dreams sweeties!!

Until next time,
