IKEA Holiday Table Setting
The Holidays are here and what better way to entertain than to throw a holiday dinner party! I have used some of my favourite IKEA products to create a rich and festive table setting. Whether you are hosting a holiday brunch or an intimate dinner these products are perfect to set the mood and impress your guests. Throw on some holiday music, pour yourself a glass of champagne and enjoy!
The Place Settings
It’s all about layering when it comes to a beautifully styled place setting. I love to use pieces that are different from each other but work within the same colour pallet.
I started the setting off by adding the LATTAD natural placemat. I love the black details in this and thought it would work nicely with the rest of the pieces especially the matte black TILLAGD flatware.
The first plate I started with is the FORMIDABEL plate which has an interesting geometric shape and has the same effect as a charger plate.
I used IKEA’S VINTER holiday napkins because the colour pallet worked perfectly with the table setting. I simply folded it into a fan shape and love the texture and pattern it brings in.
Next, I wanted to add some drama. These navy blue VINTER side plates are the perfect style and colour. This plate brings a formal aspect to the collection. Just perfect!
Glass is one of my favorite finishes to add on top of the VINTER plate. I used the LYSKRAFT bowl and love the scallop detail in it. It’s transparent so you can still see the colours through it.
I finished off this look by adding a present to the bowl on the table setting. This makes for a perfect party favor. I love how the GIVANDE gift wrap really warms everything up.
The hint of greenery is the ideal finishing touch!
The Centrepiece
For the centerpiece, I wanted to create something that was easy and affordable but could make a big statement. I used GLITTERIG black and white candle trays and set up the gold and cream GLITTRIG candles holders with white JUBLA candles inside. To create more of a festive, holiday look I added in some cedar greens, red berries and figs to bring in some festive colours. I love how the blue from the figs tie in the VINTER side plates in the place settings. You can achieve this look for under $30.00!
The Details
Finishing touches are super important and really compliment the look.
I used GLITTRIG bowls and scattered them around the table. I filled each one with cranberries, figs and blue berries. On either side of the centerpiece I added some magnolia leaves that look like a table runner. Finally, I filled the VINTER glasses up with cranberries and rosemary.
Here is the final look! A simple, affordable and beautiful way to entertain over the holiday season.
Happy Holidays!
