A Valentines Day Breakfast With IKEA

I few years back I created a beautiful Valentines Breakfast display for IKEA Canada! I still am in love with this photo and wanted to share it on my blog. I hope you enjoy it !

There are no rules when it comes to celebrating Valentine’s Day. You can start the day by treating yourself to a little me-time with a hassle-free breakfast in bed. Load your Lazy Susan with all your breakfast favourites and nestle it between all your blankets and pillows (the more the merrier). Play with colours and textures to create a warm, inviting look and most importantly: Don’t forget the crossword puzzle.

Breakfast for two? The most affordable and simple way to spruce up your table is by using your dishes and food to create a beautiful, fresh look. “I decided to layer the plates with a crisp white STOCKHOLM charger plate at the bottom and break up the pink with a more traditional shaped ARV white plate”. Finish the room by framing some DIY art and adding some colourful flowers to the table. Play with colours and textures to create a warm, inviting look and most importantly: Don’t forget the crossword puzzle.

Sleeping in? Even when skipping breakfast you can start your Valentine’s Day on the right foot with some morning sweets. Set up a snack station full of tasty treats like hot cocoa with fluffy marshmallows and jelly filled cookies. The KAKOR HALLON cookies have a raspberry jelly and cream shaped heart in the middle, making them the perfect treat for your special day. If you are looking for a fun and unique way to serve up your favourite beverage, try using the versatile ENSIDIG vase as a milk jar for one (pink straw is a must!).

“When you think of Valentine’s Day, usually a big red heart comes to mind. I decided to create a look that was soft, simple and elegant.”

Until next time,
